Why do lash extensions fall out?

We all have different lash cycles and so it’s well worth to baring in mind that your own natural lash cycle, your lifestyle, and aftercare will affect how long your lash extensions last. We don’t apply lash extensions to baby lashes as they are too thin and weak to hold additional lash. It’s also not the weight of lash extensions, that makes your lashes fall our quicker! In general, the lash extensions will not pull out your natural lashes. However, if you pull on the extensions, your natural lash may come off with the extension. But do not worry; your natural lashes will grow back. Do not attempt to remove the extensions yourself; otherwise you will pull out your own natural lashes. Each human eye has about 200 lashes. The lashes usually grow in 3 rows and have a lifespan of 60 to 90 days.

Want to ensure that your Sashas lashes extensions lasts longer?
Try to avoid rubbing your eyes as this may cause them to fall out before your natural lash has grown out – especially in cases where the lash was too heavy for your natural lash. But we can assure you that if you take care of them as advised your lash extensions will not fall out before your natural lash.

As always, whether you decide to use an alternative lash salon service, we always stress the importance of researching for a qualified and skilled lash technician, one who uses good quality products, which will make the lashes stay longer and healthier.

FACT – The process is called a lash cycle. There are 3 stages phases of lash growth: Anagen Phase (lasts between 30-40 days until the lash reaches its full length), Catagen Phase (lash is pushed upwards, disconnecting from the blood supply – this might take up to 3 weeks) and Telogen Phase (final stage of the lash cycle finishing with lash falling out: it might take up to 14 weeks).

Frequently Asked Questions?!

HOW LONG DO SASHAS LASHES LAST?

Lash extensions last through a full growth cycle of natural eyelashes, typically six to eight weeks. Fills are necessary any where in between two to four weeks. This depends on both your care of your lashes as well as the natural shedding process of one’s lashes. Clients known to wear eye makeup such as mascara on top of lash extensions may be known to require fills more often.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO APPLY LASH EXTENSIONS?

Applying a Full set for classic lashes can take around 1-2 hours , where as Volume lashes take three hours.

WILL LASH EXTENSIONS RUIN MY NATURAL LASHES?

When applied by a certified lash technician, lash extensions should not, in any way, damage your own lashes. Of course, proper care can ensure this does not occur, as well as keeping lashes hydrated with a lash serum.

WHAT ARE THE MOST COMMON TYPES OF LASH EXTENSIONS?

There are three types of lash extensions: synthetic, silk and mink. Size available ranges from 6mm to 17mm. The lashes are applied one at a time using a specially formulated, semi-permanent glue that will not irritate the eye no damage the natural lash. However, since allergic reactions are possible, there are different types of glue based on one’s sensitivity.

WHAT’S THE APPLICATION PROCESS LIKE?

As mentioned, the process is entirely painless. The lash area will be cleansed, and bottom lashes will be taped down using surgical tape to isolate the top lashes. With your eyes closed, extensions will be applied individually to each of your natural lashes with an adhesive. After the designated appointment time and a quick air dry using the Air Puffer Blower, you will open up your eyes to a beautiful new set of Sashas lashes!

10 SASHAS LASHES TIPS FOR BEGINNERS!

  1. Book your fills in advance! 2-4 weeks is most often recommended to maintain a full look, and you should always schedule enough in advance to ensure you are never left lash-less! Fills that go longer than four weeks are considered a new set and may need to be rescheduled to provide more time in the appointment.
  2.  Brush lashes (very gently!) each day. This is crucial to prevent tangled lashes and maintain a fresh look. You will receive a lash comb at your appointment, so brush, brush, brush!
  3. Hair dryers can be a useful tool, too. Post-wash (as recommended daily) don’t be afraid to use your Hairdryer  (ON LOW AND COOL) to quickly dry your lashes before brushing them out as it is not recommended you rub with a towel.
  4.  Don’t be dirty! In the morning and night, either with an oil-free cleanser or something gentle like baby shampoo, rubbing at the root and brushing throughout. Rinse thoroughly, pat or blow dry, brush through, and go on with your day!
  5.  You CAN wear makeup…but you really shouldn’t. Though it is not recommended, mascara is acceptable as long as it is removed appropriately. There is also lash extension-friendly mascara available on the market for those who believe they can’t go without it or for in-between fills when your lashes aren’t looking so full.
  6. Skincare is important, too. Oily eye creams (and even face creams) can travel, affecting the longevity of lashes. As you know, oil can damage the adhesion of lashes, and so oil-free skincare is always your best bet.
  7. Sleep peacefully. Bad news for stomach sleepers, but sleeping on your back is most recommended to avoid tugging and waking up to bunches of lashes on your pillowcase.
  8.  Shower before your appointments. As you can’t get lashes wet for up to 48 hours post-appointment, it would be in your best interest to wash and style your hair beforehand!
  9.  Serum can be your new BFF. Though lashes shouldn’t cause permanent damage on your natural lashes, there are some lash serums which can be applied to the roots of lashes WHILE having lash extensions on to prevent any damage that may occur while encouraging growth of your natural lashes. After all, lashes are applied on EACH of your own natural lashes, so more natural lashes=more lash extensions and a fuller look!
  10. Seal the deal with a Lash Sealer. These can be purchased from a variety of lash-related retailers (like Lash heaven ), and can help keeping lashes in tip-top shape without ever applying mascara. Apply a super thin coat in the morning as your last step in your beauty routine and you’re set for the day!

What are Eyelash Extensions?

Eyelash Extensions is a method used by eyelash technicians to enhance the length, thickness, and fullness of natural eyelashes.

They are also known as semi permanent eyelash extensions, individual eyelash extensions, false lash extensions, 101 eyelash extensions, one by one lash extensions and the list goes on.

Eyelash Extensions also known as Semi Permanent Eyelash Extensions. The process of applying single synthetic lashes to the natural lashes. The synthetic lashes are weightless, curved and tapered in different thickness, sizes, shapes and colours to extend and replicate the natural lashes style.
How long is the eyelash Extensions application?
Usually the application takes from 90 to 180 minutes!

Classic vs Russian volume lashes..

Classic Eyelash Extensions:

The Classic style is accomplished by applying ONE lash extensions to ONE natural lash. If you have 80 natural lashes, I will only be able to apply 80 lash extensions using the Classic technique. This is why this style is not recommended for those with thin/few natural lashes.

Russian Volume:

The Russian Volume style is accomplished when multiple lash extensions (2-6 hairs) are hand made, on-the-spot into a fan then adhered to ONE natural lash. If you have 80 natural lashes, you can now have double, triple, or up to sextuple the amount of eyelash extensions. What makes this technique so amazing is that the Russian Volume lash extensions are EXTREMELY thin! Meaning the weight of this technique is often less than or equal to the weight of a Classic eyelash extension. This is why Russian Volume can be worn by anyone, including those with severely thin natural lashes.
